My master's degree is in information technology, with a lot of work in database construction. My
Ph.D. also has a focus on database management.
Therefore, it only makes sense to try to take that knowledge and use it to design web applications
for web sites.
I have been incorporating more and more database work into the sites I design. Right now, most new
sites I design, I place a database to control the display of the sales pages (since those are the most
updated). With some clients, I have given them the access to make changes, additions, updates, deletions
of the animals on their site using a custom interface.
I like the database because the display is always very "clean" (because the data is being looped).
It is also very easy to update.
I have also done databases to display more of the site itself (like displaying goats on a regular
goats page - not just for sale). I am working toward creating a content management system, where the client can log into a secure
area and make changes to the text on their site.
Many of my sites already have the content system.
I have set up a sample site at http://www.BoerGoatWebDesign.com where you can see how the system works.
If you are interested
in having a site that is a little more complex,
but gives you the freedom to have additional
control over the data displayed on your site, feel
free to contact
me. Right now, since I am in the design / development
mode, I am not charging extra for this service.
Eventually, I expect to license the service for
a fee, so get in while it is free! |
