If you are going to spend the money to get your business on the web, you need to find a designer
who is focused on the entire site. A lot of designers are willing to provide services for a 3, 4 or 5 page
web design , but few seem to have the vision of the entire site in mind when they offer their maintenance
packages.
The biggest ommission is that most web design maintenance plans seem to put a premium on making
changes to the pages, without planning to spend the time and effort at making the site complete.
A good web site design plan ought to offer at least two new pages per month as part of the plan
and should give discounts for additional pages (assuming the site owner is able to provide content for
those pages).
A succssful site is going to be on that has a lot of content. When I designed my first web site, I knew that just having a site that was set up to sell goats was
not necessarily a viable business plan. I knew that you had to have something that would set the site apart from other sites. More importantly,
I knew that they needed a site that people would bookmark and return to often.
As I was researching the niche market of Boer Goat breeding, I had a lot of questions. It occured
to me that a lot of other people would also have those same questions. It came to pass
that I asked so many questions that we started categorizing them into articles.
I have often said that if a site owner has the time, he or she should try to develop 2 articles
per week. Put it on your schedule and stick with it. Keep a text document that you can easily access and
brainstorm as many ideas as you can. Add to the list as often as possible - and subtract those titles by
writing as often as possible.
My web site design maintenance package includes the addition of 2 pages per month. If you are interested
in a plan designed to add 4 text pages per month, please contact
me and we can make arrangements for that.
The bottom line is that the best web page packages are those that think about growing the site into
one that has a lot of content that your visitors will bookmark their pages to see the updated content.
I did a comparison of web designers in the Boer
Goat niche market. Please check it out for more
